CUSTOMER FEEDBACK
John,
You asked me to write about my experience of you and your
garage over the past three months. While it has not been
the smoothest of experiences I have ever had, you certainly
made it as easy as it could be. With this in mind I would
have no reservations at all in recommending you as possibly
the finest mechanic in and around the Doncaster area which
I have the highest regard for.
I introduce myself to you in July 2001;
I was investigating the costs of converting my car to run
on LPG. I had also been to see a couple of other garages
that I had selected in and around Doncaster area, so I knew
what the installation involved. The first thing that impressed
me was the amount of certificates you had on the wall, this
shows that you have pride in yourself and your achievements.
The second thing that impressed me was the high regard that
other garages hold for you, strange you would have thought
the main dealer would have been the most competent to fix
their own cars. Obviously this is not the case.
I was a bit taken back by the price that
you quoted, as it was over one thousand pounds more expensive
than the dearest quote I had been given so far. You took
the time to talk me through the conversion process, over
five hours as I recall. You explained all the options and
gave sound reasons for the higher price, namely the fact
my car had a plastic inlet manifold. These, you said, tend
to explode if a backfire occurs, common if the gas supply
runs out. To overcome this a more expensive gas kit is needed.
Being a sceptical person and not really knowing you that
well, I phoned a couple of the other garages to check if
this was true. One of the garages told me that they would
no longer be able to help me as they did not realise I had
this kind of manifold, strange I did tell them it was a
Citreon Xsara I had. The other garage I phoned back had
never had this kind of trouble; mind they had only just
started fitting gas kits. That was it I was going to go
with the Man with over twelve years experience of LPG. This
was a good choice as a neighbour last month suffered from
a manifold failure, costing him a fortune to repair; he
had let his gas run out!
It would be nice to say that the story
ends there, but it didn't. My installation ran into every
problem you can imagine: The Gas tank was recalled on safety
grounds, Engine management problems, Software failures,
Gas fill problems. You name it, it happened to my installation.
You started to really earn that extra money. What made this
situation easier to cope with was your excellent attitude
towards your customers. I would be hard pressed to find
someone that cared for Customers the way in which you do.
You kept me informed at all stages, you even had the Gas
kit manufacturers engineer attend at one stage to assist.
In all I now have a very reliable gas
converted car, that has been running at just below my Mile
Per Petrol Gallon rate. The installation cannot be faulted
and I look forward to many miles of cheaper motoring. I
anticipate that, assuming LPG stays at around half the price
of petrol, the conversion will pay for itself in less than
two years. After this period I am hopeful that the conversion
will start saving me money, I estimate with my current mileage
I will be saving nearly £30 a week.
Yours faithfully
Mark Bennett.
John,
I would like to express my thanks for the time and effort
you put into solving the tickover and misfire problems for
me in Jan / Feb 2003. Your knowledge and experience are
second to none and I am happy to recommend you to my friends
and family whenever I get the opportunity. Thanks to you
I can now rely on the car 100% and will be a regular customer
for years to come.
Thanks again
Ian Moore
